Helen has thrown the longest running Oktoberfest in America every year since 1970, and the alpine hat is the one thing everybody in town is wearing by the second stein. This is that hat, cut down to its essentials: pinched crown, gold band, one feather.

Cream and gold rather than the green and rust of the light version, and that's a separate color build, not a recolor. Forest green would sink into Blue Spruce and disappear, so the hat goes cream and the band and feather go gold. On Blue Spruce, True Navy, and Black it reads like a patch sewn onto a jacket.

Printed on a Comfort Colors 1717, the heavyweight, garment-dyed tee that beach and mountain-town shops have sold for decades. Soft from the first wear, not the tenth.

A note on garment dye

Each shirt is dyed as a finished garment, so color varies slightly from piece to piece. That's the character of the fabric, not a flaw.

Care

Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Tumble dry low. Do not iron directly on the print. The garment dye keeps softening with every wash.
